Eliza's Wedding

We arrived home around 10 pm on December 27th. We quickly tucked the sleeping babes in bed and I hurriedly packed and prepared for my trip to DC with King. My sister Eliza had gotten engaged 5 weeks previous and since Jarem was already committed to work the week after Christmas I was headed to the wedding without him and the girls. I finally finished my preparations around 1 am only to awaken at 430 to make my flight. If you have spent time with King you know he is a joy and delight but any 17 month old would become restless after this much travel. I was equipped with a bag full of his favorite things and found myself switching activities every 30 seconds to 2 minutes in order to entertain him. Although he had had little sleep the night before he isn't one to fall asleep while being held. He did doze off for a few moments only to be awoken by an announcement from the pilot. It was exhausting but I know that I would have been much worse off had I been alone.
After 2 long flights we arrived and it was great to see my Dad, Maria and Matt there to greet us! The next two days were a whirlwind of wedding festivities and lots of people in one house. In my old bedroom slept myself, Eliza (her last night before the wedding) Sally and King in the closet. My parents, grandparents and uncle Mike were in the other 3 rooms. Maria and Matt and Devin and spencer were in the basement rooms.
On the morning of the wedding Sally and I helped Eliza with her hair and make up and it seemed like everyone was running in different directions trying to get the last minute details finished. As we arrived at the temple on the afternoon of the 29th I realized I had left my temple recommend in Utah. Jarem quickly got in touch with our bishop, calls were made and I got to see my little sister be sealed to Dave forever. It happened to be the same day and place Jarem and I were married 5 years previous.
It was a wonderful day and everything went off without a hitch in my opinion. King had the time of his life with so many aunts, uncles and grandparents doting on him the entire time. Matt and Maria seem to be his favs. Although I don't know Dave very well I am happy to have gained a brother. Welcome to the family!
