Que Que?

Spending the day by the pool with Jarem today because he is in between cases.

Lately the girls have been saying the funniest things.
Lucy:
Book of Mormon stories
more water
alrighty
amen!
booger
I don't know!
Oh gosh!
all done
fall down
Sopa (Sofie)
bless you! (she says it after each sneeze... Jarem sneezes 6-7 times in a row)

Sofie:
"It's hard to bend over because there's a baby in my tummy."
"Lucy, stop freaking out!"
"Daddy, Do you have boobies?"
"Actually, I'm not tired."
"I learned it from you Mom!"
"When (baby boy) grows up he's going to come out of mommy's tummy and I'm going to take care of him."
"It's not a big deal Dad."
"Babe, (refering to Jarem) can I have some more cholcolate milk?"

I Love You Huggies Overnights

Lucy: during a typical hydrotherapy session.

Lately Lucy has been waking up for a 4 am party. We couldn't figure out why she was waking up, but once she was up she just wanted to play. We decided to try some overnight diapers in case it was an uncomfortable diaper that was causing her to wake up every night. Most nights Sofie would join us as well.
The past two nights Lucy has slept through the night! She even slept in! We resorted to putting her in our closet in a pack and play and I think that Sofie is lonely now because she has been waking up and sneaking in bed with Auntie Dallyn who is staying with us for the next couple weeks.
Needless to say that I LOVE Huggies overnight diapers! Sleeping has always been a strong suit of our girls so this waking up thing has been hard on us. Hopefully it is all in the past until baby boy comes along. :)
Thank you all for your love and prayers on his behalf. So far so good!

Status Quo

At my doctors appointment today we learned that my condition has remained the same! This is great news because it means that Baby Boy Hallows won't be making an appearance terribly soon. My doctor really wants me to get to 32 weeks (one and a half weeks from now) because at that point the only problems he would have are breathing and feeding...I know, still sounds grim but compared to brain damage I'll take it. Ideally baby and I will make it to 34 weeks + where the scenario would be much more pleasant and with fewer possible complications.
My AMAZING sister-in-law Lauren has been staying with us for about a week and a half now and has meant the world to us. She is currently scouring the entire house (while I blog) and plans to return home to her hubs tomorrow night. Did I mention she is 33 weeks preg herself! Having Lauren here has made all the difference. I am able to be up and take care of the girls for a couple hours a day, mostly in the morning, but by afternoon and evening the contractions get stronger and I am back to bed. I also have medication that I can take to stop the contractions, which I have been taking one or two times a day. When I get to 34 weeks my doctor wants me to stop taking the medication and let the baby come as it is also risky to take these pills for too long. So that means he might be here sometime before my 28th birthday! Can I put a healthy baby boy at the top of my wish list?

Here are some photos taken by the talented Jenna. I was so happy to get these done before baby makes his debut.

A Cruel Joke

Jarem and I had a conversation about our finances this weekend and came to the conclusion that we need to cut back on recreational shopping and save for upcoming baby purchases.

On Monday I noticed that something wasn't right with the pregnancy, but I waited until my scheduled appointment on Wednesday. It was confirmed that I lost my mucus plug (sorry that sounds gross) and that I need to stay in bed as much as possible to keep my almost 29 week old baby in utero a bit longer. Among the list of Do's and Don'ts I was given by my beloved OB (not sarcastic, I really do love her) was the resounding NO SHOPPING. I am completely confined to my apartment and partially confined to the couch/bed.

Is this a cruel joke?
Ps. Baby and I are fine as long as I stay down. When I stand or walk the contractions start up again. Jarem has been able to work from home so we've got things under control. Thank you for your love and prayers.

Austin

We went to Austin on Thursday to "help" Lauren and Brian move into thier new place, but I'm sure we were more of a hindrance than a help. We unpacked a few boxes, moved around some furniture, played at the pool and watched some play offs. GO SUNS!

It was so great to see Auntie Lauren and Brian and we are thrilled they live so close now. Their first baby, also a boy, is due to be born 2 weeks before our boy! He will be our kids' only cousin and we can't wait to play with him. It's also fun to be pregnant at the same time as Lauren. We have matching baby bumps!

We're So Refined

I have to admit that Costco hot dogs and hand-dipped ice cream is a favorite meal of mine lately. I don't know what it is about being pregnant that turns me into a hot dog loving person! Here's the proof: a family dinner at Costco.
I think we bought 3 things this trip. We really came for the dogs.

Isn't it wild how they have the same curl on the same side of their head? My hair curls out on one side too. Weird.

Nap Time

Does the fact that this is my favorite time of day make me a bad mother?
Lucy throws all of her pillows and blankets out of her crib before dozing off. And that booty, it's mostly authentic, very little diaper bulk.
Sofie likes to take naps in our bed these days and has to have her snuggles.

As for me, I spend the time working on my online class, drinking diet coke, watching mindless television and occasionally napping myself. Quiet sounds so good sometimes. :)
