Dance Class

Pointed toes! Good job Sofie.

Parents were invited to observe the last dance class before the holidays. The pictures are all so blurry because I was holding onto a wiggly Lulu for dear life so she didn't run onto the floor and disturb the class. Of course King sat in his car seat the entire time happy as can be.

From the Peanut Galley

I wanted to document some of the funny comments people make when they see our circus of a family pass by. In San Antonio a couple months ago Jarem was in a hotal hallway with all of the kids and all of our luggage while I gathered the rest of our things from the room before check out. He likely was wearing King with Sofie and Lucy in the stroller. A fellow hotel patron walked by, looked at Jarem and said, "You's a baaaaad man."
On a separate occasion I was shopping with the kids, wearing King and pushing the girls in the stroller and a woman exclaimed, "Loooord have mercy!"
I also love when people (mostly those I don't know) say, "So, you got a boy, you're done now right?
I say, "We'll see." And they just about die.

Sofie's Green Party

When I asked Sofie what kind of Party she wanted for her 3rd birthday she didn't hesitate to exclaim, "GREEN".
The decor.
The dinosaur pillow that has a sleeping bag inside. Thank you Auntie Lauren.

The bubble wand party favors.

The guests playing with play dough waiting for everyone to arrive. Sofie would have invited 30 3 year olds if I had let her, so we had to limit it to a few of her nursery friends from church.

Blowing out the candle with her besties, Daddy and King.

"Yay!"

Sofie is for sure bossing everyone at this point.
Impromptu hug.

The pinata wasn't green but Sofie approved it as long as it had candy inside.

After most of the guests left Sofie tried out her new blow drier with a friend.

Soccer

Sofie played soccer this year because Coach Coby let her play even though she wasn't 3 yet. Well, I use the term "played" very loosely. Let's just say that she didn't wear shin guards because she never got close enough to the ball or other players to need them.
One night during the season while tucking her into bed she told me that she really likes Coach Coby.

Dang smudge on my lens.
This is Nolan, Sofie's bestie. We have our fingers crossed that these photos will be used in their wedding video someday.
Sofie and Nolan ran while holding hands. This photo was taken right after Nolan fell down. Sofie picked him up and brushed off his hands and knees while singing him twinkle twinkle little star.

Obsessed with this boy

This is one of my favorite times of day. He's so yummy!
Man! I should ask for a nap for Christmas...and maybe some eye cream.

Thanksgiving in Amarillo

Jarem took some much needed time off for the Thanksgiving holiday and we headed west to Amarillo. Before we left we had lunch at the new 5 guys in Las Colinas. We like to eat there because not only are their burgers the best, the noise level is high enough that our kids don't disturb anyone.
Sofie is wearing short sleeves because it was almost 80 degrees that day and very humid.
On Thanksgiving day we woke up at 430 am and started our drive. It was 31 degrees!

Gramma Jackie and great grandson Kingsley met for the first time.

King is his usual jolly self.

Jarem and myself in front of GopGop Bret's childhood home in Hereford.
I know it looks like I'm pregnant but I'm not. Something wierd is going on with my sweater. That's not until next month...duh! ;)

The cows.
The barn. Also known as the tin-can-cut-in-half-on-it's-side.

Father and son in front of Arrowhead Mills where Bret worked as a teenager.

We had a blast with Jim and Jackie in Amarillo eating Thanksgiving dinner, touring around Amarillo, visiting Hereford and basking in the rich culture of West Texas. We learned so much about our Hallows' roots and can't wait to go back for another visit.

Just Sayin'

When we were in the car I told the girls that we were going to McDonald's so I could get a diet coke...
Lucy: Old McDonald's?
Sofie: Nooo Lucy. Old McDonald's has cows. McDonald's has fries.
Lucy: Old McDonald's?
note: Until about a week ago Sofie called it Old McDonald's too.
Playing peek-a-boo with Lucy.
Lucy: Mom you see me? (If I don't respond immediately...)
Lucy:Moooom! Where is me?
Me: I can't see you! Where are you?
Lucy: Here I is Mom!
While doing Sofie's ponytails
Sofie: That hurts-iz Mom.
Sofie comforting a crying Kingsley
Sofie: King! King! I'm right here! It's ok King! I'm right here!
(while craddling his face in her hands and touching her cheek to his.)
Bedtime
Lucy's in bed, tucked in and I'm about to shut the door...
Me: I love you Lucy.
Lucy: Thanks.
Me: Say, I love you mom.
Lucy: I love you mom.
Me: I love you more.
Lucy: Thanks.
Tonight on the phone
Jarem: I wish I was paid by the hour...I'd be a freakin' millionare by now.
I have to admit his picture has nothing to do with the post. Isn't he delicious?
He stayed in this position for about 10 seconds before toppling over.
